A sacrificial survivor nominated as prey during the blood rites of the Lagomorph festival. The fleet footed Des climbed deep into the tendrilled web that forms a canopy above the ground. Traversing the quivering strands to mask her footfalls, she escaped the ravening settlement's blood-crazed hunt. Regrettable Des stumbled on a strand of maturing buds. Bursting forth, the hatching kits devoured her. When the monsters descended upon the settlement, they all had Des' fearful ruby eyes.
